With irregular cycles, you may not be ovulating on a regular basis. You may have signs that your body is preparing for ovulation, but that does not mean it is actually happening. The only way to know for certain if you are pregnant would be to test. I would consider having a blood test done instead of the urine test.
If it is negative, it would be wise to ask about other fertility testing that can be done, for both you and your husband. You need to know whether you are ovulating, and, if not, what the cause might be. Then you can focus on trying to get that taken care of. Your husband should also have some testing done as many times there will be a male factor that prohibits pregnancy from occurring, or sometimes from both partners.
If you aren't comfortable with the doctor you were seeing, ask for recommendations from friends, co-workers, family for a different one.
