Father of 13 year old wants to see her after 11 years!
I believe that my daughters father wants visitation after being out of her life for almost 11 years. My daughter is 13, almost 14, and she wants nothing to do with her biological father. When I asked her if she ever wants to see him, she started crying out of fear. She doesn't know this guy at all. He has several other children with other women. He left her when she was 3 years old. Before that age, he left her for a year straight. I am now married to a wonderful man whom my daughter looks at as a father. The biological father has been paying child support, he owes almost $2,000 in arrears. Please help, I'm terrified right now.

Why is she so scared of him, if she does not even know him. If you have been telling her bad things about him, it will not go good for you in court. The judge or an attorney will be asking that question to you and/or the child in court ( most likely will)

But just 2000 dollars behind over 13 years is not that far behind,

And yes there is a good chance that he will get visits ordered. You can ask that both father and child go though counseling before the first visit and that the first visits be done supervised by a approved person by the court.

But paying child support is a form of "contact" viewed by most US states. And being gone does not take his rights away.

Why are you terrified? You thought this person was nice enough to have sex with so what are you terrified about? What is your daughter so fearful about? I can understand her being mad at him for abandoning her. But why fear?

If he wants visitation its likely a court will order it. It will probably be supervised at first.
