I will be rude how do you expect anyone even to guess at this answer ?

What parent, is there any court orders, where is this at, the UK, Mexico, Iran, US.

Why don't they have contact, how long has it been. Is there a restraining order ?

I mean from a issue, they can't approach without having made contact, so if there is no contact, they are not approaching.

Just not seeing or visiting, does not take away any rights of the parent

If he is the father, and there is no order for protection and the family court has not ruled, there is nothing to stop him.

Yes he is the father but in scotland the law says he has no parental rights/responsibility. He is currently in process of applying to court for access. Just didn't think it was right that he could continually approach child while this was in process. Very distressin for all concerned I'm only thinking of the safety of the child involved . Prior to this he had all the access he wanted but chose to abuse it through his alcoholism..
