    Floor drain
    I have 4 basement floor drains on a septic system and want to install a small kitchen sink beside one of the drains. Well you know the question (can I use the floordrain for the kitchen sink, I assume my floor drains each have traps and if I put the sink in and a additional trap giving it a double trap would make it better for any future problems if this is possible.

    Double traps are ileagal. Your floor drain already has a trap, What you 're pro[posing is called an indirect waste and it's done all the time. My only question is why a kitchen sink. Do you plan on cooking down there? If it were my call I'd install a utility sink. Good luck, Tom

    Well my daughter moved back in and I have put in a stove and fridge down there. It is finished with a bath and toilet already at one end of the basement, a washer dryer very close to where she wants to put this sink as I already have installed kitchen cabinets. So the last thing is to put in the sink to make it look the part. So if I do this with the floor drain just don't put any trap in? Make it a driect line to the floor drain, was planning on cementing 1 1/2" pvc direct to the drain.

    Will a permit be pulled? You terminate the PVC Three or four inched over the floor drain. This is what makes the waste indirect. No garbage disposal or dishwasher. Good luck, Tom
