I have had my cat for about 9 months and he has long hair and he has never given me hey fever be for, I went to Israel for 4 weeks and the people I stayed with don't have cats but when I came back to australia (I live in australia) I stopped for a few days in a different city and went to visit some friends they live in a very clean unit but as soon as I went inside I got hey fever and they have 2 cats as soon as I left I took some tablets and I was fine.

When I got home a few days later I was fine, until I went to pick up the cat the next day and I got hey fever again, when I leave the house for a few hour I'm fine but when I come back I'm not, I have been back for nearly a week and it hasn't stopped, I can't keep taking medication, so what can I do? I'm going to give the house a really good clean but its not that dirty or dusty, and its not because of the season as its nearly winter, can I suddenly be come allergic to cats? Will the doctor be able to help? And what can I do besides getting rid of the cat? To explain how I feel, I sort of feel like I have the flu, like sore throat, runny nose, sneezing, really itchy eyes (so itch it thought they were going to pop out of my head)

Wow, that's weird, well I really love cats, but are you sure it was your cats? Not like changing weather? I'm only allergic to environmental what is weather change and things outside. Well it does sound possible that can happen, maybe tell your doctor he prob will know what it is

Well I went from hot to cold but when I'm out of the house its better, and when I'm in the house and warm I'm still gross and snotty, I hope its not my cat

Yes, you can develop an allergy at anytime. Clean very well, especially using a vacuum, and then try limiting the handling of your cat, washing your hands well after you do. Close your door to your bedroom to keep the cat off your bed if he usually sleeps with you. Do this for a few days and see if you notice any difference in how you feel.

Your doctor should be able to help you if it is determined that you may have developed an allergy.
