How much should I charge as POA in MN?
I have been appointed POA for a dear friend of the family (who I have always considered family) who is a diagnosed paranoid psychofrenic (spelling?) and currently undergoing wound care, and the very recent death of her life-long companion. This is taking up numerous hour of my time and incurring me several expenses like gas/car expenses, people to look after my own disabled mother, etc. I understand that I can be reimbursed for the out-of-pocket expenses, but I was wondering weather I may charge for POA time? And if I may, what is considered a reasonable fee for that time? I am hoping that after this initial period of getting everything settled, the time taken won't be quite as extensive, but to date I have devoted more than 40 hours to this matter, and just wondering what my rights are here.
