Is it possible to get assigned to a new Parole Officer in the State of Tennessee?
My son was just released and put on parole from prison yesterday. His work plan when he went in front of the parole board was to work at a restaurant. He gets out and finds that the restaurant does not need him. We spent all day today looking for him a job. He found one! He reported to his PO today for the first time and he told her about his job and she was not pleased. She told him he could not take the job until she could check out the place and give her consent. I am new at this, But it seems like bull crap to me. He has to pay $45.00 a month to her, how can he do this without a job. He can't wait for her approval, he is to start work in the morning. I realize that Parole Officer's are not here to be your friend, but that seems too harsh. Is there a way in the State of Tennessee to get him a new Parole Officer?
Any sincere advice is much needed.

You can ask, but most likely they will be worst and really look for a reason to send him back, all parole officers in a office are friends, buddies, have drinks after work and talk about how they really got so and so.

And no this is not harsh, it is called rules, what type of job is it, what type of business. Will there be other people on parole working there, is the place known for drugs and so on.

So if he goes to work there, without permission, they put him back in prison. They don't care.

And they expect family or friends to help pay the money,

Again, this is nothing, really, nothing, just wait till they really get tough or hard.
