Want to change from gas to electric heat
I get gas from McCleod oil in mebane it's the cheapest I can find and I still can't afford a large tank of it and it does not last long
I wanted to know around how much it would cost to change over to electric heat there are three of us living in my home one in a wheel chair so he gets cold easy in the winter time and I have been getting help on my heat fuel from social services but I don't like asking for there help. We all three are on disability so we are on a fixed income. Its hard to make ends meet in the winter time
I just wondered if it would be better to get electric then a have a gas pack and what kind on money it would take
    Thanks

What you need to do is find someone local to do a comparison chart for the fuels you are considering using. Then they will also have to calculate the degree days and other info to get a complete and accurate picture of what your bill will be like. That is the ONLY way to be accurate in these matters. Many HVAC companies offer this service especially if they feel they might get the sale and install of the new equipment. One other thing to consider. Your present furnace could be old an inefficient. Just getting a new 95% gas furnace might do the trick and get those bills lower. Good luck.
