My boyfriend has to give up on his dream...
My boyfriend is a dancer. He has been dancing for the last 15 years but now he has some troubles with his knees, so I fear he will have to quit soon. I'm so worried about him, I've never seen him so down and I understand him, because he made a lot of sacrifices to get here and now he has to admit that it's time he stopped. A lot of people would have given up, but he never did, he even neglected school in order to pursue his dream. Of course, he has to stop one day because as the time passes by he won't be able to perform all moves any more, but not now, at the age of 20. How should I help him raise his self esteem again? I cannot tell him "it's just dancing. you are still young so you can still fight for something new to make a living" because it's not just a sport or dancing, it's his only passion, his only way to dream in this chaotic world. Moreover, we live 3 hours distance, so I can't just be there for him, I am available for him anytime, but physically, I can't be there. It's breaking my heart seeing him like this and I do want to help him get over this, but I don't know how. What do you think it's best in this situation?

Those that can do... those that can't teach.

There is a lesson in there for your boyfriend. He doesn't have to give it up in its entirety. He just has to modify his routine so it works for him.
