    Hello,I have a hampton bay ceiling fan that just hums when you turn it on at the light switch.I bought it at home depot about 4 years ago.I would return it but the receipt has faded so bad that you can not read it.The light works on it fine.We really like the look of the fan,so I would to fix it .Any idea of how to repair the fan or return to Hampton Bay.

    Return it anyway. They should still take it back. If you want to try to repair it see:

    I suspect it is a bearing issue or a bad capacitor.
