Hampton Bay Fan - will not stop spinning
Our Hampton Bay fan will not stop spinning. I can turn on the light with the remote, but I can't stop the fan. The remote has an option to control the speed of the fan, but changing the speed on the remote only changes the direction the fan spins at full speed.

The dip switches appear to be set up correctly.

The fan is connected on the same electrical wire as a GFI.

Does the LED light up on the remote when you attempt to change the speeds? And are you saying the fan reverses when you hit the "speed" button, OR the speed button doesn't work but the reverse button does?

    Probably a bad receiver.
