    Set garage door spring
    Tension spring on front wall abhove garage door. I recently have taken one down and I want to install it. How do I reset the spring?

    Have you ever done this before? I have seen 2 first timer get seriously injured trying the coil the spring without the right tools. Do you have the correct tools for rewinding?

I weighed my door then bought a second hand spring for a 7 x 9 door. I was told turn it approx. 8 rotations. I know to be careful , use visegrips as a backup and keep my face away. The question is do I expand or compress the spring? Thanks!
