Burners ignite then shut of unexpectedly.
    Age of equipment: 5 Years
    Brand (Manufacturer): RUUD Silhouette II
    Efficiency: 80%
    Natural gas, Induced-Draft Blower
    Furnace only inside unit

What does it do? Not do?
First thought it was the thermostat and replaced it but am still having intermittent igniting of the burners. If I turn the power on and off several times eventually the burners ignite and stay lit. Some times they will light and stay lit for only a minute or less then shut off and the fan continues to blow. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

I am no expert but had the same problem you had about a week ago and posted almost the same question. The answer I received was that my flame sensor was probably dirty. Easy job! Took it out and cleaned it with some steel wool and now works fine. Look at the sticky at the top of this forum for flame sensor. Hope this helps.

Hi. This problem has actually been happening for over a year, but was so infrequent in the beginning and has become more serious. I never know when it will die, so I avoid freeway driving, since the car could die, it is like a deathtrap. It is due for a tune-up... does anyone know if the main...

Main Burner Won't Ignite [ 3 Answers ]

I have a small furnace that heats my garage and two rooms above my garage. Turned this furnace on for the first time this year and all it does is blows out cold air. Pilot is lit but it seems like the main burner doesn't ignite. Any ideas? Thanks, Gerry

Burners won't ignite--no gas? [ 1 Answers ]

Lennox model GMP075-3. Installed in '95. I've tried resetting according to instructions on access cover panel (turn heat to 'off', turn off power to furnace, turn gas valve to 'off' for 5 minutes, etc.) When I call for heat, small (induction?) fan runs for a few seconds, the igniter unit glows...

Word 2000, Outlook 2003: My keyboard unexpectedly begins typing gibberish. [ 1 Answers ]

For example, when I type "several years," what appears on the screen is "o.k.pan f.apo". I don't understand why or when this occurs, except that it may occur inconsistently after I've been writing something for longer than a few minutes. Usually, I have to save my work and reboot to...
