Earned income tax single mother with children
I have 2 children and I made 2035.50 and I am getting back 950.00 Should I be getting more because I have 2 children and I am a single mother ? Also, they charged me $200, and it's the 8-15 day refund. Is this normal?
I find it odd that I worked more and had another baby but I got less money back this year than I did last year. Sounds VERY odd to me.
PLEASE I need some help with this!
    Thank you

$200 for what is probably a bit steep for a Form 1040A with Form EIC, but that depends on where you are located. I suppose that fee is about normal in NY City, Los Angeles or some other high cost area.

That said, the $950 refund IS accurate. EIC is based on a bell curve. You earn a little, you do not get much. As you earn more, the EIC grows until it tops out and starts going down.
