I would say there is not a good chance, 1. you should have known who it was being titled under. 2. she needed to have gotten proof of residence, her being to lazy to get required paper work is not an excuse.. 3. all legal paper work not shows him as the owner and it being sold to him, You agreed at the time if you signed the title over.
You can try and sue him in small claims court but I would say there is not a good chance.

My daughter lives in my house in a different state, no bills in her name. Since it was for registration purpose and 1.00 can that be argued that it is hers?

I suppose it can, but it would be a very weak argument. You gave it to her. Then she sold it to her BF, for $1.00. The reasons each of you did that is probably irrelevant.
I don't follow, by-the-way, the "registration purposes". It couldn't be registered in your name unless you were a state resident? That's peculiar.

In my State "registration purposes" means they didn't want to pay Sales Tax; therefore, the $1 sale.

She didn't change her license, has no mail , utility bill or credit card in her name. So it was to be registerd to him but she was the owner.. I know it's a mess.

So she did not do what she was suppose to do, get correct license address changed. And did she not have a cell phone bill or something ? But the issue is, it was signed over to this boy, and once he registered it IT became his. Unless you have something in writing that he was to sell it back for a dollar latter, it is his.
This is basically the result of trying to bend or get around doing things properly. The 1 dollar will be assumed just a result of not wanting to pay actual taxes, or a trade for other properly. The dollar makes it legal.
I am sorry but I don't think there is any chance of getting it back.

This is what happens when someone takes the "easy" way instead of the "legal" way - pay up front or the slow hard way.
