    Get father for abandandment
My son was never ordered to pay child support but has always helped his dauighter and the woman that gave birth to my granddaughter. He has severe adhd and will not take his meds. There has never been a court order he just pays when he can. My husband and I buy her clothes shoes pay for birthday parties, christmas toys and doctor visits and medicines even though she does not live with us. The mother now wants to try to get my son for abandandment. My sons calls and tries to see his daughter and she will not let him talk to her or see him unless I am present. My son has never made over 6k any year of his life and he is 34 years old but has the mind of a sixteen year old. We are so upset and was wondering if she can get him for this even though he sees her at my house all the time. And what is considered abandandment? Thank you very much.

Abandandment varies as a criminal change in each US state, many do not have it as a charge but a reason to file in family court for custody and the such.

The main issue I see is that he is not paying child support, he is giving gifts, sorry, he needs to file officially in court for visitation of the child and he needs to get a court ordered child support paymnet being done. It will be set according to his income.

In some states, she could even file for back support, since normally the money he was given since it was not officially support is not counted.

Your best help for him, an attorney to file in court.
