What is the name of a post-apocalyptic '80's movie?
All I remember about this movie is that there was some sort of virus or plague killing (or disappearing) most people. The main male character is up in a cabin in the woods and only survives the plague because he was bitten by a poisonous snake which combats the virus and saves him from death. He then comes down from the mountain into town a discovers that everyone is dead. Or almost everyone. (If I'm not mistaken, a woman in the movie survives because she was being electrocuted by her hair dryer at the time of everyone's death or disappearance). Does anyone know the name of this movie?

The hair dryer scene occurs in this movie: The Quiet Earth. I don't recall the snake scene though. Don't know if this helps, but there is a book that fits your description of the snake... It's called http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earth_Abides.
