    Can I get 2 3 days notices a week apart?
    My landlord gave me a 3 days notice one on the 5th of April and another on the 12th of April to pay or quit. Is that legal to give me 2 3 days notices? Then she sent a 5 day summons and we found it on the front lawn. Is her procedure legal?

    She can give you two pay-or-quit notices. Perhaps she lost proof of the first one and felt that she had to do it over again.

    Then, evidently, she filed in court to evict you. Did the complaint refer to the 2nd pay-or-quit notice? Anyway, if the process server just dropped on your lawn, it's not proper service. It's possible, if you are in one of those "nail and mail" jurisdictions, that it was properly attached to your door and it somehow came loose. Check the return of service in the court file to see what their story is.

    You could, I suppose, move to dismiss the service, but you did find it, so it's hard to say that you didn't receive actual notice.

    Consider filing a complaint with the court or whichever agency licenses process servers. If what you say about the process being left on the lawn is correct, that process server should loose his or her license.
