Height of electrical boxes in pole barns
My son and I have installed a pole barn to be utilized as a garage for the hobby of restorating cars. The electrician has installed a panel box and we want to run lines and mount boxes. How high from the cement floor should the boxes be mounted on the wall?

Keep all switches, receptacle and junction boxes above 18 inches above floor. This will keep your garage in accordance with the Code for commercial garages, due to fuel and fumes.

Any wiring below 18 inch in a commercial garage needs to be explosion proof, and you can't afford that wiring method. If you could, the electrician would be doing the work.

Put the outlets up high at your convenience.
