I have had a red lump appear overnight in my pubic hair region (the middle of it). It is tender around the lump but is only painful when clothing rubs against it. Anybody have any ideas what it could be?

It is probably an in-grown hair, or it could be the beginning of a boil... If you can, apply a hot compress to it several times a day, this will speed up the natural process this thing will need to come to a "head", keep it covered with gauze, which will allow it to breath but not be irritated by your clothing. If it gets to be very bothersome you may need medical intervention, a doctor can lance it for you... There is no real quick way to make this thing go away so try to be patient, don't fuss with it, and use your own judgment whether you need a doctor or not.
