Fan pull chain too hard on hampton bay ceiling fan
Hampton Bay Hawkins pull chain for fan speed is binding and very hard or nigh impossible to pull without breaking pull chain. I have 3 of these fans and similar problems with all 3, very binding and hard to pull. I have tried adjusting the globe to be sure it is in line with chain, no help. When I remove the globe assembly, switch seems to work fine but when I put it all back together, impossible to operate. Is there any type of lubricant that might help this problem? Do I have this thing assembled wrong in some way? I will never buy another of these fans as they also require a specialty bulb, very hard to find. Home Depot still carries this model but they don't have any suggestions for me. Any help or suggestions appreciated.; THANKS!

Yes, the beaded chain can be difficult when it has to make a turn or goes through something thin, like the globe. You might try replacing the beaded chain with a nylon cord in where it turns or passes through the globe, using the beaded chain only where it can be seen.

It's posible the chain has to go through another hole in the fitter before it goes through the glass. Also,I would never buy a store brand fan.
