    Question on part year residence state tax return
    Hi,

    Do I need to split my federal itemized deduction (Sch A) accordingly when I file my part year residence tax return for virginia (lived there for 11 months) and NJ (lived there for 1 month)?

    I KNOW New Jersey pro-rates the deduction; not sure about Virginia.
