    Clicking sound from dishwasher
    Picked up a used dishwasher, unknown if working or not.
    Kenmore 587.16249702

    When I plug it in, there's a ticking sound from the area around the switch. No lights come on. If I hold down the "cancel" button long enough, then that sound stops but the solenoid at the bottom rear, where the drain line comes out, starts making a "thud thud thud" kind of noise.

    Some research suggests the first thing to do is to unjam the motor and pump. How?

    Never mind, I found that the control panel circuit board is scorched and resistors melted.
