    Kitchen tap/pipe vibrating
    Hi
I live in a modern house for around 6 years. Recently every time I turn on hot the water tap from any bathroom, the kitchen tap starts to vibrate and make a noise. When I go downstairs and turn the tap on, the noise stops!
I really don't know what to do!

Isolate and eliminate. When this happens, turn off shutoff valves [stops] under each fixture to isolate each fixture for repair or elimination of repair. Sounds like a washer fluttering somewhere, possibly even the kitchen. A fluttering washer typically signifies a loose screw on a washer somewhere.

Loud Vibrating Shower Pipe [ 3 Answers ]

When turning on the hot water in the upstairs shower of my 4 year old property, there is a loud vibrating sound like a harley davidson or jackhammer coming from through the wall. If the pressure is turned up high it goes away, but that is a lot of (hot) water being wasted. This only affects the hot...

Leaky kitchen drain pipe [ 2 Answers ]

Hello, My kitchen sink drain pipe leaks where the black U-shaped (p-trap?) screws onto the straight pipe from the sink. I've read that there is supposed to be a plastic ring or fitting that goes between the two pipes inside, and then plumbers tape on the threads where it screws together. Is...

Vibrating pipe [ 7 Answers ]

We have a problem with a vibrating pipe located just off the hot water tank (cold line) which goes down into the crawl space and connects to the main water line. It vibrates only when the water isn't being used, mostly at night. Sounds like someone tapping their finger on a table really fast. If...

Leaky pipe under kitchen sink [ 2 Answers ]

Hi, I just moved into my new house and I have a problem with the kitchen sink. When water is just running through the sink and pipes, there is no leaking. However, when I fill up the sink with water (say to soak pots) and then let the water out, the pipes underneath leak terribly as though the...

Kitchen drain pipe [ 2 Answers ]

In a sink located in the second floor apt kitchen the drain line under the sink draining away from the sink pitches upward into the soil pipe causing the sink to back up. What should do to remedy this? Should I also remove the old soil stack going up to the roof because of possible blockage in the...
