Why does my mother try and dictate what I eat?
Every time I try and make something to eat my mother looks at me and says why are you hungry. On a normal school day I eat scrambled eggs, and almond milk for breakfast for lunch. I have an apple and water for a snack. When I get home I have an orange, and for dinner, I have a piece of chicken. And quinoa rice.

I'm on April break now, so it varies a bit. Yesterday I woke up late so I had quinoa rice, and asparagus for lunch, and then soup for dinner. My parents said we would go out to breakfast this morning, so I went in, and asked them when we were going, and my mother snaps at me saying to shut up. I shouldn't be hungry. Why does she dictate when I eat. I know when I need to eat, and when you add up the calories of what I eat on a school day, its about 500-600 calories. Which is half of what I should be eating. I go running at least 3 times a week sometimes more. I can't deal with this anymore. I don't want to go to breakfast today just to say that I'm apparently not supposed to be hungry.

Some parents cater to their children's wishes about food, when and what and where. Others are strict about some or all of it.
The basic truth is that as long as the pay for the food and the roof over your head and all your needs, and are legally and ethically responsible for you, never mind that they probably care about your health, then they get to say what you do.
They can't tell you how to think, so just form your own opinions about life and how you would act with children if you have them, and try to wait until you are on your own.
I know I didn't answer WHY. Only your mother can answer that.
'I can't deal with this anymore' should be saved for beatings, cruelty, abuse, drinking, drugs, or irrational behavior.
Snapping at you just isn't enough to be an awful parent.

    Because they are a parent.

In my house, and my parents home when I was a child, you ate when the meal was done, everyone ate together. You ate what mom ( or dad) fixed. You did not choose what to eat, or when to eat, you ate what you were given, when you were given.

I think that is called being a kid and listening to your parents. Sounds like a ungrateful child that needs a real lesson in reality.

Next your diet does not sound healthy If you are only eating 600 calories a day you need to see a professional to set up a proper diet for you.
