Tax Refund Variation with SSN & TIN Numbers for Depenents on L2
I am on L1 VISA from last one year, associated with L2 dependents Wife & Son(17months). As per Tax Consultant Information, will get good refund if my wife & son having SSN.

    Now I Like to know,

Is there any process to get SSN for my Son(17 months old)- Dependent on L2 Visa?
    Or
Having TIN Number for my dependents can I get the same refund amount (same as having SSN) ?

Note: For My wife after obtaining Work-Permit, I can apply for SSN. So this is not a block for me.

    Thanks In Advance

    Nagprasru:

Complete one Form W-each 7 to apply for an ITIN for your wife and your son.

As for how much you will get, you have not provided enough information (dates entered the U.S. duration of stay, etc.) for me to answer properly.
