    F1 OPT - 1040NR or 1040NR-EZ? Which one I have to file
    Hello,
I am from pakistan and currently on F1 visa - I am currently on my OPT STEM extension. I filed 1040NR-EZ last year with 8843 form - and I am utterly confused on what forms do I have to file this year

    - My total compensation on my w2 box 1 shows up $120XXX and I understand after the treaty between US and Pakistan ($5000) my taxable amount will be $115XXX -- Can I file 1040NR-EZ this year?

    - Do I need to file 8843 and/or 8833 with above form?

Although, I am married and have my wife and my child living with me - I understand I cannot claim any deductions for them. Correct?

Please let me know, any help advices is greatly appreciated

    Regards,

Form 1040NR-EZ says that to use it your taxable income (line 14 on 1040NR-EZ) must be less than $100K. If you start to fill it out and find that that line is $100K or more, you will have to switch to 1040NR.
