Green Card is active after 1 year
My In-Laws received their green cards and left US to take care of personal business. However, they couldn't come back within a year as required and didn't file a port of re-entry permit which allows to stay out of US for 2 years. They like to come back but not sure if they will be able to on their green card/immigration visa since they have been oversees more than a year.
