Any time you have sex, you can become pregnant, however there are times during your cycle where the chances are increased. The best window of opportunity for conception is not during your period, it is actually when you are ovulating. This occurs around 12-16 days after your period starts. An egg only lives for around 12-24 hours after leaving the ovary, so the sperm would have to come into contact with the egg during that window of time. Sperm can live inside a woman for around 5 days, however, so that increases your window slightly. So while, it is possible to become pregnant during your period, it is not probable. Good luck.
