    Could my menstrual cycle stopped do to the IUD?
    I've had my IUD for about 2 1/2 yrs now. And not once did I stop menstrating but all of a sudden I stop.. could I be pregnant? My last cycle was Feb. 18th 2012 I was suppose to start on the 12th of this month but nothing yet.

    Hi NEED_2_KNO... welcome to AMHD,

    Yes, pregnancy can be a possibility. It isn't common, but it does happen as no form of birth control will be 100% effective. Are you able to find the strings to your IUD? Any shorter or longer than usual?

    It may be that your body has just decided to start having irregular cycles, but try a pregnancy test to see your results. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. If negative, and you don't get another period next month, see your doctor just to be sure.
