Distribution from retirement plan after leaving the USA (foreigner)
    Hello!
I was a research scholar in the USA for almost 3 years and shortly after leaving the country, I filed for full distribution from my retirement plan. This was effective 2011 (I was already back in Europe).
I now need to file my tax return (for the expected 10% tax for early distribution). What file should I pick? I cannot figure out which one fits better since I was not residing in the USA in 2011 anymore. I do not have a W2, only a 1099-R for 2011.
    Thanks for any advice!
    Mel.

You will file Form 1040NR, because you MAY be filing Form 5329 with the return.
