    Is Farmapram a safe drug to take nightly for help sleeping
    I have tried various over the counter sleep aids and none of them work for me.

    I don't believe it's available in the USA because Food and Drug doesn't feel it's safe OR hasn't done sufficient testing to prove it's safe.

    I am in south Texas. This drug can be bought over the counter in Mexico.

    Its main uses are depression, anxiety, panic attacks, ringing in the ears.

    Would I take something over the counter not approved in the US? No. If there are side effects you will have a problem getting medical treatment.

    What does your Physician say about drugs which are legal in the US?

    Farmapram is sometimes referred to as "Mexican Xanax". There is very little info on the drug. The brand sold in Mexico contains alprazolam and may be a generic version of same although even that can't be officially verified. See Farmapram - Drugs.com

    All US - FDA approved drugs are required to list side-effects as well as substances that inter- or cross-react. No such information is available for Farmapram.

    Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine and is available generically in the US. Information is available on that drug here > Alprazolam Information from Drugs.com But I have no way of determining if that is the bioequivalent of the drug sold in Mexico.

    Wish I could provide more information but it seems to be unavailable. I recommend that you follow Judy's advice and check this through your doctor or perhaps a local pharmacist.

    What I posted came straight from one of the mailers I received concerning drug watchlists. It is entirely possible that what is manufactured in one factory in Mexico differs from another. It is also possible that what was seized at the Border is NOT what is being sold in other places.

    (I still get the Pharmacist maiings.)
