    I removed, rebuilt, and replaced a transmission two weeks ago. There are a lot of steps involved, starting with getting a transverse engine support. I recommend you buy a Haynes Manual and study it carefully, before beginning work. The drama climaxes when you install the transmission. Hopefully, you will buy or borrow a transmission jack; otherwise, it can be challenging and dangerous. Without air tools, and a good selection of impact sockets and extension bars, it will be stressful. Torque all fasteners to spec.
