    Confused and struggling--conflicting information
So this is going to be kind of confusing, because I know that it is for me. I will try to be short but detailed.

I have my birth certificate. It has my parents (that raised me anyway) listed on it. I know that when there is an adoption a new certificate is issued with the adopting parents as your true parents.

My 'mother/ passed away a few years ago and she never said anything. My father lives far away and we do not talk. He wouldn't tell me the truth anyway. I have an older sister who use to tell me I was adopted all the time... but you know an older sister could just be saying that.

Someone is using my social security number, its an older man, who lives in the state I was born in?

The IRS has my birth year as a year earlier than what my birth certificate says.
Even more recently, my doctor did a blood type test because of a high risk pregnancy. My whole life I believed I had 0 blood type... The recent testing shows that I am b . However the woman that raised me is 0- and my dad is 0 , so how can I possibly have b ? I always thought and understood that you get one of your parents blood type or a combination of the two...

So how could I find records of if I really was adopted or not?

This is really freaking me out. >email address removed<

Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this and possibly help me in my search for realization.

Why don't you and your sister so a DNA test to see if you're related? (have no idea how much that would cost, just seems like that would give you the info you're looking for... )
Also, just fyi - the SSA (social security administration) had my birth month and day wrong for years... I just noticed it a while back, and went in and had it changed, remember that there is a possibility of human error when it comes to that kind of stuff.

You can't find records. You can post what you know on any of the sites which put adoptees in touch with birth parents - if both are interested. I agree - DNA to see if you and your sister are "blood" would determine if you are not related. Of course, that won't tell you which one of you is adopted.

My blood type was wrong on my hospital records. I've seen incorrect SS numbers and dates of birth.

I trust you have reported the use of your SS number to the authorities - I don't believe this is in any way connected to your adoption. Do you?

@Judy, yes I have reported what needs to be reported to any and all agencies. It has been hectic.
I don't know where my sister is.
@ Alise, I have taken into consideration human error, but that doesn't change the fact that my blood has been typed three times and it is not cheap and it still does not match either one of my parents...
    And thanks for the response.

Concerning blood type I find this: Since there are 4 different maternal blood types and 4 different paternal blood types possible, there are 16 different combinations to consider when predicting the blood type of children. Blood Types Tutorial

You will see type O and type O can only have a type O child.

Are you positive about the blood types of your parents?
