So I've known a guy for awhile, complicated from the very start as other friends got involved. We didn't openly admit our "feelings" out in the open, as it was pretty clear since neither of us dated whilst in contact. Long story short, he was dishonest about a lot of things yet that was in the past and I have finally forgiven him (OK IT TOOK AWHILE) but I did! We recently got in contact. It's been going great, although the feelings are returning.

Nope. You're not just friends. You are special friends. You are special to him and he is special to you. You both should be honest from here on in. Life is short to live it in lies. Don't be afraid to show your feelings too. What's the worst thing that could happen if you will just be honest with him. There's no harm done if he will be honest with you every step of the way.

How old are you guys? It's much easier if you work things out with each other, without any influence from other people. The reason is because you want to be true to each other and not told what to do by others.
