Did your friend endorse the check? If not, then you committed fraud and theft.

If the check was endorsed, then I don't understand why your account was closed.

Als, please proof read your post before submitting, what you posted is hard to understand.

You might have been in violation of your Banks rules pertaining to the account... which are not subject to or influenced by your power of attorney. What did they give as a reason.

No. It wouldn't be a crime anyway to deposit a check to another person into your account. However if a check that wasn't made out to you was deposited into your account, the bank might have been concerned that the payee would come after them for the money.

Even if you had a power of attorney from your friend, I see no indication from what you posted that the bank would have known about it.

Also, something else you said raises a question. You asked if the bank can " close my account then bill me a fee because something was posted fo my account afterwards". Was the check not good, causing your account to be overdrawn?

But what specifically did the bank tell you as their reason for closing the account? How they said it can be as important as what they said... so what exactly did they say.

You are still not being clear. Did your friend set up Direct Deposit of her refund giving your account info? Was a paper check issued that she endorsed?

Turbo Tax doesn't issue any checks except maybe if she took a refund anticipation loan.

A Power of Attorney allows you to sign in your friends place, but it doesn't give you permission to care for her children, you need temporary guardianship for that.

And it is unclear why the blank closed your account if the funds were direct deposited or you had an endorsed check.
