I have a Cabrio Dryer, model #YWED6200SW. When I put in a new fuse (time delay) the heat works for about 15 minutes and then the fuse blows. I have looked at the heating elements, and they look fine.

Unplug the dryer and turn the dryer on. Then read across the two hot prongs on the plug to see how many ohms you have. Then read from each hot prong to ground, on the plug and on a bare metal part of the dryer. Then write down all the numbers: any reading from hot to ground means that a wire or element part is grounded and you should not run the dryer until you find the problem and fix it. This will tell you if something else is wrong and the dryer is pulling more amperage than the nameplate says it should pull. You will divide ohms into voltage to get the amperage, so if you read 10 ohms (too low) across the hot you, and read 240 volts at the receptacle you divide 10 into 240 to get 24 amps (volts/ohms=amps). This reading will not include the actual running amperage because the motor will not be in the circuit and does not work on some dryers. You need an amp meter that clamps around the wire to get a good reading. If the fuse is lower than the rated current draw on the nameplate then you will need bigger wire unless it is already the right size, then just go up on the fuse. You have to make sure there is no short in the dryer, first. How big were the fuses?
