    How to assign a volume to an external HD?
    External HD does not appear in volume (Disk Management), hardware is installed it just doesn't show the volume so I can access it.
    Need help!

    New blank disks either internal or external, properly installed, are visible in Disk Management as a disk with free unallocated space. To create a volume, format all or a portion of the free space and assign a drive letter.

    If this isn't the circumstance, explain further.
