Magnavox DVR/DVD connection to Comcast Cable
I just purchased a Sansui SLED2228A TV and a Magnavox MDR513H/F7 DVR. I have Comcast as my cable provider. I'm using a HDMI cable from the DVR to the TV and have connect the cable to the DVR in connection and used an used a RF coaxial out to the TVs Ant. In. I'm not able to pick up any cable channels. What do I do next or what do I have to change to get my cable channels?

Cable from the wall, into your DVR, HDMI out from the DVR into the TV.

When you perform the channel scan on your DVR, make sure you select cable and not antenna.

Thanks but that is basically how I have it set up.

    1. cable from the wall to the cable box In(Comcast DCH70)
    2. cable from the box Out to the DVR In (Magnavox MDR513H/F7)
    3. HDMI from the DVR to the TV (Sansui SLED2228)
    4. RF Coaxial from the DVR Out to the TV Ant. IN
    5. Auto Channel Preset (Cable (Analog/Digital))

The DVD player that is on the DVR does work so that lets me know that the HDMI is working correctly. I also tried taking the cable from the wall and putting it directly into the back of the DVR and I was able to get the local channels. I have since put the cable from the wall back into the cable box and it only shows one or two channels. I have now ideal what the problem is. Please help. Thanks

Ohhh... You have a cable box. Sorry, I read your original post as though you had basic cable.

You will need to split the cable line from the wall with one going to the DVR, the other to the cable box.

    It will be like this:

    - Coax line from wall into splitter.
    - One line from splitter to DVR.
    - Other line from splitter to cable box.
    - HDMI out from DVR to TV.
    - HDMI out from cable box to TV.
