    I reported an employee's drug use to company human relations
    When I reported this to his company they took action. That employee called his human relations dept & they gave him my name. Ill have to grow an eye in back of my head things being destroyed.

    And thus is life and why many people will not turn others in. Works same way, police are called, the people can normally check reports and see who called police.

    I don't see any legal recourse - if that's the question. You accused someone who had a right to know the name of the accuser.

    This was a small payback for all turmoil he has caused my family. He has a baby with my daughter, but he will never be a dad. He once went out with a friend, they partyed all night & on way home he rolled his jeep both flew out, his friend died & told everyone his friend was driving. That's M.V.H. he should be in prison! I am not a narc! Just wanted him to suffer a bit, I still think HR should have kept their trap shut. Thanks to all replys. P.S. not enough space for everything could have wrote a book.

    Yes this was revenge in turning them in, my guess now also, if there was no prior history would this had even been reported. My guess this person who was reported did not even have to ask but knew who reported them.

    So you turned him out of revenge, not out of some need to protect people from his drug using ways?

    One thing you never said is whether the drug use was confirmed and what action the company took. If you reported this and it was not confirmed, you really have a problem.

    I have some other issues here. If he had a child with your daughter is he paying child support? That would be a better form of payback! What proof do you have that he was driving that car? You don't think the police investigated?

    Finally, it is a principle of our justice system that a person has a right to face his accuser. While that doesn't specifically apply to private enterprise, it means HR was not wrong by revealing the info.

    I do want to add that even if the info was accurate, your motives were not. If you were trying to protect, the public, your fellow employees or your company that's one thing. But for revenge? Especially if you had no real proof I find it reprehensible.
