    Upstairs Water Leak?
We noticed today that the downstairs ceiling is showing signs of leaking about 3 feet long. At first we thought it was from the bathroom but when we really took a look the location of the leak is to the west of where our upstairs washer/dryer is located. Someone told us it could be from condensation, because we have had a lot of problems with our dryer but we don't know if there could be a pipe there that could be leaking. The floor upstairs is not wet. Does anyone have any suggestions? We do have a company coming out on Tuesday to clean out the lint and relace the piping for the dryer. We were planning on asking him also.

You can not judge where a leak originates from by where you can see it. Water will take the path of least resistance. You may have to open up the ceiling up and track it back to the source. Good luck. Tom

Look at the orignal plans of the house trace the water lines to see where they run than go from there

I've got an upstairs leak emitting from both bathrooms whenever the tubs are used... and seemingly when the toilets are used, also (if that's possible?). I'm also concerned about some loud popping noises that seem to be coming from the waste pipes... and sometimes a 'howling' noise... this could...

Leak in upstairs tub [ 9 Answers ]

Hello experts! I've isolated the leak in my upstairs tub to the drain itself. When the tub is filled a few inches with water, I can actually hear the water dripping down to the drywall (now wetwall) ceiling of the first floor living room. We've had several plumbing issues upstairs and one thing I...

Downstairs Leak from Upstairs Shower [ 1 Answers ]

Our upstairs shower is apparently leaking into our dining room directly below it. It looks like the previous homeowner attempted to fix the problem as there is a hole in the dining room celing that was filled with plaster. I'm sure it's the shower, because it only leaks when the shower is on. ...

Leak in ceiling from upstairs shower [ 2 Answers ]

The ceiling in my downstairs bathroom leaks when the upstairs shower is used. The leak starts about five minutes after the shower has been turned on and continues after the shower is turned off. The leak is coming from two or three small holes in the wood directly beneath the upstairs shower. ...

Leak from upstairs shower drain [ 5 Answers ]

My house is about 2 years old and the original owner had an extra upstairs bathroom installled by a plumber rather than the builder. The shower is used infrequently and I noticed a leak on the first floor ceiling today. Should I expect the plumber to honor the work after a 1 1/2 years and prior...
