Illegal to be gay in Mississippi
I just read this story and to be honest getting scared of the changes in the United States. Seems like every day I hear of more and more rights being taken away. I should state I am in Canada but am following this. I will probably never travel to the states as some of their statements have lead me to believe they consider me a terrorist (I support the movement for no kill sheltars and proper treatment of animals and accountablity.)

Question... is an insurance policy required for all parades and marches in the jurisdiction ? If so then there is no discrimination here . If not ,then I suspect their lawsuit will be successful.

Hello mo:
You're right. There's an unmistakable current going on, and it's VERY UGLY. Have you been reading my right wing wish list thread?? It's going to get WORSE too, if the right wing gets their hands on the levers and buttons of government...
We CANNOT allow that to happen.

Excon have you seen what they said (lawmakers ) about animal activists? And they are trying to make it so they can't go into places abusing animals with hidden cameras to get proof. It will be a crime. Very very scary and I don't live there. I can not imagine how you feel.
Don't forget the undercover cop who pretended to be a high schooler and got boys to buy her weed. Yes I said Weed not crack not coke but weed. They made over 30 arrests. Sorry but boys at that age only think of one thing.. S E X . Hopefully it will get thrown out. I can find you the links if I want I follow this all on Facebook.

That story was very typical of a movement that has gone out of control. When they don't get their way they invent things and start name calling. Its too bad that they can't examine thir own ranks and realize that you can get far more done then just by shouting at another to do things for you.
I have no respect for groups like that.

Many of us here in the US support no-kill shelters and proper treatment of animals and accountability as well, I support those and I live in the US without fear. I don't know why that would make you a terrorist.
I'm sorry you feel this way about the US, it just goes to show how the media is fear-mongering.

Except the fear mongering in this case is the LGBT group's doing.

Yes, and the media picked up on it and didn't voice the pertinent facts, i.e. the lack of permit.
I still find it humorous that people still believe what they hear in the media without doing further research. It's a shame that something such as this has made a neighboring Canadian afraid of us.

Absolutely, but I can't imagine why anyone would be afraid to come to the U.S. we have more than enough people trying to get here for some reason.
By the way, I don't consider the source of the OP a part of the media.:
Addicting Info started as a resource to discredit all the lies and propaganda that the right-wing spreads.
He just failed to mention he would go about this by lying through his teeth.

Some real news now, Cheney canceled an appearance in Toronto because Canadian protesters are too dangerous. No, really.
Former U.S. vice-president Cheney has cancelled an April appearance in Toronto citing concerns Canada is too dangerous.
“He felt that in Canada the risk of violent protest was simply too high,” said Ryan Ruppert, president of promotions company Spectre Live Corp. which had booked Mr. Cheney for an April 24 appearance at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
“They specifically referenced what happened in Vancouver,” Mr, Ruppert added.
In September, Mr. Cheney was speaking at a private club in Vancouver when protesters massed outside the front door harassing ticket holders and in one instance, choking a security guard.
I'd say choking falls within the realm of peaceful protest, wouldn't you?

Same reason that I don't understand why all of those Occupy Wallstreet people were not arrested. Here in Atlanta, they destroyed property in the park, ( about 10,000 dollars worth at last estimate) was camping there illegally , If I went there tonight and tried to put up a tent I would be in jail.
But yes most groups refuse to get the proper permits, refuse to get insurance, refuse to pay the fees for security or clean up and then cry .when they don't get their way

Hello again,
I don't know about Mississippi, but being gay might soon be illegal in Alabama. Ex Supreme Court Chief Justice, Roy Moore, who was removed from office for refusing to remove the 10 Commandments from the courthouse, WON is primary election to retake his seat.
Do you think he's changed his mind about the Constitution?

I'm sorry, I don't see the connection between banning homosexuality and refusing to take down the ten commandments. I do like this quote in your article though:
"He believes in the right to try by jury. He probably knows more about the constitution that anybody who has been up there," said former Lt. Gov. Jere Beasley, a Democrat and one of the state's top trial lawyers.
I doubt he's changed his mind.
