    New hallway light won't switch off
    I have changed my hallway light but kept the old switch and connectors so all I have added is earth live and neut wires from new block connection to the old block connection


    Reading other forums/helpdesk things says to try change wires other way around but still no luck


    Any fresh advice I can get ?

    Is this a "three-way" switching circuit, where two switches
    Turn on/off the same light in your hallway?

    Did you only replace just the fixture?

    Please provide a bit more detail...

    Somehow you have an unswitched hot as your power feed. What wires were in the ceiling box?
