    Two-year-old with hives
My two and a half year old son for the first time last night broke out in itchy hives all over his body and again today all day, popping up all over his body. I have not changed anything in his diet or laundry and as far as I know he isn't allergic to anything.

You really do need to see his doctor about this.

Are the hives accompanied by a fever? Have you given him anything for this? Children's benadryl is what I use when my kids have a reaction. Give the recommended dose.

A lukewarm bath with epsom salt may also help.

But this should only be done until you can get him to a doctor. If his fever gets too high then you need to go to the hospital immediately.

Sounds like chickenpox, but since I can't do a physical online, it's hard to say. Try contacting your pediatrician.

Its not chickenpox and he doesn't have a fever with the hives.. the hives pop up I put cream on to sooth the itch them ones go and then they pop up elsewhere, all this started last night when he woke up crying cause of the itching. I've put him in the bath and its as if the warm bath made him break out in the hives more severe everywhere he was submerged in the bath the hives were more severe. Its as if the warmer he gets the worse the hives get.

You don't need a fever with chickenpox.

    Any new foods?

The only thing he's had new was a slice of cherry pie on sat night after his dinner and I don't think that could cause this. Other then that there has been nothing new or changed in his diet or life.
