I found out I have got something called Vaginismus... it won't go away..
Me and my boyfriend were having sex for about a year until it started to hurt me when we did. Now I've found out I have vaginismus. I've tried using dilators but it still hurts when we try and have sex. If anyone has any tips that would make sex less painful for me please help. Thanks.

Don't panic, I had a septate hymen and had the minor operation to get rid of it two years ago, I didn't try sex until after the operation and now its fine. The surgery is quick and easy. Just go to your GP and they'll sort out the rest. You do not want to leave it hanging as I'm pretty sure it is likely to get infected that way. Hope this helps!
I'm a bit confused. You had a septate hymen, now you have vaginismus. In the above post on the linked thread you stated that sex was now fine, but here you say it isn't.

Also, you recommended that another person use dilators for her issue, but it clearly hasn't worked for you.

When the doctor diagnosed you with vaginismus what did he/she recommend?

"Alty"... I don't know where your reply has gone unless you chose to delete it but yes I had a septate hymen, the doctor has confirmed to two aren't related, sex after the operation was fine, but now I have a separate, unrelated problem; vaginismus.. dilators have helped but sex is still not back to normal...

Ah apologies I can now see your fully reply. Any more advice now you have more details? My doctor suggested taking it slow. Its been nearly a year since she said that. We're progressing just much slower than hoped, don't ever know if it will go back to normal without the pain or the worry.

My post is still there, I didn't delete a thing.

    Thanks for the unhelpful rating.

I'll leave it to someone else to help you, I'm no longer interested.

    Good luck.

I didn't know I did rate you unhelpful?. can you not tell I'm new here, I couldn't even find your reply? Sorry but there's no need for that attitude when people are talking about sensitive personal matters. Think about that when "helping" someone else :/

Lo.xo, you clicked the box that says unhelpful under my post, and therefore gave me an unhelpful rating when all I wanted was clarification so that I could give you a more accurate reply.

What you have to realize is that we all volunteer here. We don't get paid to do this. So when you take time out of your day, try to answer someone's post and they give you what amounts to a slap in the face, it really doesn't make you want to go back for another slap.

It's not attitude, it's choosing who to answer and who not to answer. That's the beauty of being a volunteer. I don't have to help, I choose to, or I choose not to.

In this case I choose to leave it to someone else.

I'm sure someone will post soon, so just check back often for a reply, and good luck.
