    Not getting gas on highway
My 1985 Dodge pickup seems to run good tntil it warms up and when I'm on the highway it stops running, like it's not getting fuel. Any idea what makes it do that. The fuel pump is working and the carburetor is rebuilt. What else could cause my truck from stalling on the highway? Thanks for any info, that is helpful.

Not enough manifold heat will ice the carb. Clogged fuel filter-passes enough gas for low speed but starves carb at highway speed.

The Ignition Control Module (ICM) could be failing, once it get hot--common problem on many older cars and trucks.

Who did the carb rebuild? Was the metering valve replaced on the back of the carb? Have you changed your fuel filter under the truck?

The fuel filter isn't clogged. It's a new one. I found like coffee grounds in my carburetor, so I am going to drop my gas tank and clean it out and blow out the gas lines and see if that is why it doesn't run right. I appreciate all the input on this matter.

The guy who I bought the truck from, said he rebuilt the carburetor, but once I took it apart, I knew he didn't, so I rebuilt it myself and it is in working order. Not sure what the metering valve is but will do some research to find out and also the ignition Control Module. Thanks for all your input. Before long, I hope it will be right and running.
