    Pregnancy-Medication and x-ray?
My first day of last period was January 1/2012. I had a dental x-ray on January 7/2012 and taking some medication by January 10th for my cold and sore through. Yesterday I went to do an ultrasound and they told me that my baby in 6 weeks and 5 days, which will be exactly on January 7th, the day that I had x-ray and before I start using medication. However my husband and I were protecting up to January 21th. I am so confused about all these days and wondering if the dental x-ray and medication harmed my baby and since we were protecting up to January 21th how ultrasound is telling me that my baby is 6 weeks and 5 days. Please help me; I was crying the whole last night. I really appreciate your help.

No form of birth control will be 100% effective, so even with using protection, pregnancy can be possible. Apparently this is what happened in your situation. I know it must have come as a surprise since you thought you were preventing a pregnancy.

The x-ray should not be a concern as you would have used a screening apron, correct? It also would have been very early on, and just a one time exposure. What sort of medication did you use for your cold? Most likely it would not be a concern either that early on.

Congrats! Wishing you a smooth and easy pregnancy... :)
