I am 15. My best friend, Shane, died over a year ago on February 11, 2010. He was almost 17. I have literally known him all my life, and our friendship was one you could right stories about. I'm not trying to be vain, I'm simply trying to get across how wonderful that friendship was, even if we fought and had our differences, together, we were one. He died in a car crash. He went into a coma and, long story short, I flipped the switch that ended his life. We weren't in a romantic relationship, and although I we had tried, it just didn't fit us, and we understood that. I was and still am in a relationship with another boy, and while Shane was alive, he was completely accepting about it. He got along well with my boyfriend, texted him, everything. They were pretty close.

A day before the anniverrsary of his death, he appeared in the hallway of my high school, walking with the rest of the crowd, as if he were going to class. I only got a glimpse of him. He has never step foot in my high school while he was alive, and when I saw him I instatnly recognized him. He kind of glows when he appears. That was about two weeks ago. I've seen him every day since. I don't understand what's wrong with me. He just stares at me, as if he's trying to tell me something through his eyes. And it drives me crazy that I can't read him, because I used to be able to so well. Neither of us will say anything. I'm scared.

Help me.. Please.

My dear, don't be scared. Some people will post that it is a figment of your imagine, that there are no spirits. However, I believe that your friend is visiting you. Have you tried talking to him? Asking him what he wants or needs? Sometimes finding a spiritual healer can help you to understand. If you don't want him visiting you, its OK to tell him that and why it's uncomfortable for you.

Perhaps you can't "read" him anymore because it is not really him. Would you accept that as a possibility?

Maybe you are seeing things and your not letting himgo which means your mind in playing tricks on you making you think he is really there with you .

I'm not a psychologist or any other doctor... but I don't know if I could ever buy into such vivid hallucinations simply due to grief.

@Haunting helper: What do you mean, exactly, by not really him? What else could this be besides a hallucination or a haunting?
@Haiden Kennedy, I have tried to let him go. I was doing so well, until he starting showing up.

I didn't say it wasn't possibly a haunting. But hauntings are not necessarily done by human spirits. What I am saying is that if you really are seeing a spirit, it is not human. It is deceptive. It may be a spirit that recognizes your grief and may be trying to draw you into communicating with the spirit world... a dangerous thing to do. Don't take everything from the spirit world at face value.

@Hauntinghelper: What do you suggest I do then? I can't ignore him. He's everywhere, and it hurts. He is always there. I don't know what to do. I'm only 15. I shouldn't even have to deal with this.

You're right, you shouldn't have to deal with this... the pain of a loved one being gone is bad enough... NOBODY should have to deal with a spirit. Being 15, have you talked to your parents about this at all?

Don't be offended, but I've found that most teens and young adults simply cannot handle these situations properly. This is not something you can or should try and deal with on your own.

Are you a church going person at all? How willing would you be to talk to someone from a church?

I haven't told my parents.. my family has a past of schizophrenia, and I have seen a psychiatrist before for other reasons, and I'm afraidd they'll jump to conclusions. I'm convinced that I'm not mentally insane, but how should I know.. ha. & No, I'm an atheist actually. My whole family is.

So you're proclaiming the belief that there is no spirit world and that God doesn't exit... yet you're seeing a spirit. Do you see the problem with that?
