    Motorcycle repossession - at garage
I have a motorcycle at my garage that I did repairs on. The owner never came to pick it up and I've been storing it ever since. Now Harley Davidson wants to repossess it. I told them fine if they pay me the money that is owed for repairs and storage. What are my legal rights? Right now, I'm owed more than the bike is probably worth!

Depends on what state you are in as to whether you have a valid bailment lien.

Do you have signed paper work for the work done. Is there written posted policy on the terms of storage.

I know here in GA, in a prior business, we were not allowed to collect storage in a law suit since there was not a written policy, it was required to be posted on the wall and/or in writing where they sign when they leave the equipment ( items)

Yes, it is clearly in the repair agreement, including the amount per storage per day.

Of course, I am correct, does not the mechanic lien come after the loan. So the bike would be sold and the money goes to the loan first and if it sells for more than the repo, then the mechanic lien gets the balance ?
