Can I be forced into moving in an apartment with roaches?
I signed a 1 year lease, but when I went to move in I found roaches. I talked with the neibers and was told that they have a roach problem...

Didn't you investigate the apartment before signing the lease? Did you report the infestation to the landlord immediately? What did they do?

I was shown a model of the apartment, and did a walk through but their was no sign of roaches. Went to the apartment the night before I was going to move in, and saw about 5 roaches in the kitchen, told the manager the next day, so they bombed it. I waited 2 days, went back in, and their was dead roaches, but live ones n the cubards. Talked with the neighbors and was told that they also had roaches. I was told by the manager I had to use that unit, even though I was willing to wait for another unit to become available. Which would b less then a week.

While roaches are annoying I don't think they constitute an uninhabitable condition which would void the lease.

What I'm hoping to do of move into a unit that doesn't have a roach issue, the apartment complex has over 100 units n groups of 8, I've talked with some of the people that live their and was told some units have roaches & some don't.

Some of the people that live there may be more aware of a roach problem than others.
